Sevier County honored its veterans on Monday.
The community gathered for a Veterans Day program Monday afternoon to show their respect and thanks. There are about 7,800 veterans in Sevier County.
Veterans Service Officer Paul Whaley says the support there is awe-inspiring.
"It is an honor and privilege to come out and support the veterans and the sacrifices that have been made and the sacrifices that are being made now. It means a lot to all of us to have this support," said Whaley.
Whaley says one example of that support is the newly opened VA clinic in Sevier County.
