A convicted sex offender is back behind bars after officials say he tried to alter a child's birth certificate.
The Knox County Sheriff's Office arrested 36-year-old Don Allen Coleman on Tuesday morning. Deputies say he tried to change a child's birth certificate to show himself as the biological father so the child could live with him.
Coleman was convicted of aggravated sexual battery of a minor back in 2005.
He now faces several charges including violation of the sex offender registry and perjury.
