Solar energy technology is now on display inside a Knoxville mall. The University of Tennessee set up an interactive display of the work it does at its West Tennessee solar farm.
The exhibit is called "Spectrum." It's located on the second floor of the Knoxville Center mall near JC Penney.
The goal of the exhibit is to teach people about renewable energy and technology, and encourage kids to pursue STEM education and careers.
"It's very important. When you look at all the different energy needs that we have not only here in Tennessee and the United States, but across the world, solar energy is an important part of the solutions that we're implementing today and especially important for tomorrow," said John Hopkins.
UT expects the exhibit to remain at Knoxville Center for about a year before it moves to the solar farm.
