The Pat Summitt Foundation presented a big check to two important Alzheimer's organizations on Wednesday.
Since it was created a year ago this month, the Pat Summitt Foundation has raised two grants worth $56,000. The Lady Vols head coach emeritus presented the two grants, $28,000 each, at an Alzheimer's Tennessee planning luncheon.
Alzheimer's Tennessee and the Cole Neuroscience Center at UT got those two grants.
The coaching icon and her foundation are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support.
"Everyday people are calling and emailing and reaching out to us to do whatever they can to help," said Patrick Wade, Pat Summitt Foundation director.
"I just appreciate all the support that we've had. We just gotta keep fighting," said Summitt.
The Pat Summitt Foundation's mission is to create grants to advance Alzheimer's research. It also funds are and support for patients and their families.
