A new Knoxville organization is bringing holiday cheer to area hospitals.
A Spark of Kindness hosted a community event on Wednesday to make greeting cards for patients stuck inside medical facilities over the holidays. About 200 cards will be distributed to local hospitals in the coming weeks.
President Amber White says they're just trying to make tough times a little easier.
"The holidays are hard for people that have to spend time in the hospital or away from their families or away from their loved ones and don't get to do the things that everybody else gets to do for the holidays. So we like to spread a little kindness and show them that somebody cares about them and they're not forgotten during the holidays," said White.
A Spark of Kindness organizes community service projects that families can do together.
Folks also helped make ornaments and a tree skirt for the Fantasy of Trees project.
