A downtown Knoxville gym is celebrating the end of months of renovations and repairs.
The Lindsay Young Downtown YMCA suffered serious water damage after a collapsed ceiling triggered the fire sprinkler system and flooded the building in May.
They hosted an open house on Thursday to show off the renovations and repairs they made.
The gym had to replace its group exercise floor and basketball gym floor. They also transformed the third floor "attic" space into a functional training room.
"It's a multi-functional workout facility area, and we're hoping that it will draw a lot more new members in. Plus, it also adds additional space and it will draw people up from our other wellness area downstairs and into here," says Julie Brasfield,
the Member Administrative Assistant at the YMCA.
The open house continues until seven o'clock.
