An organization that takes America' bravest generation to see our nation's capital received a little help on Tuesday. Honor Air received a $1,500 check from the Tennessee Valley Fair.
They used proceeds from this year's Sawyer Brown concert to make the donation.
Honor Air flies East Tennessee World War II and Korean War veterans to Washington DC to see the memorials built in their honor.
"Those guys and gals are our national treasures and we want to do whatever we can to be able to get them up there to see the monuments at Washington DC," said the fair's executive director, Scott Suchomski. "The other thing too is I'm a vet myself. I'm still in the Tennessee Army National Guard and served two tours in Iraq, so I have a very close connection with my fellow veterans."
It costs $500 to send one veteran to Washington.
