A man who had been found guilty of murdering his wife has been sentenced to life in prison.
Jeffrey Long was accused of stabbing and choking his wife Janas Long back in 2009.
In August, a jury found the 51-year-old guilty of first degree murder and premeditated murder. He was also convicted of aggravated burglary and assault.
The judge ordered all counts to be served concurrently since Long showed little remorse for his crimes.
In his statement to the court, the victim's brother-in-law says the holiday season without Janas is especially tough.
"We'll look to see who's coming through the door. It won't be Janas coming in with her smile that would light up a room. She won't be there. She's been taken away from us, your honor," said Kyle Whitaker.
Long will be eligible for parole in 51 years, when he's 102 years old.
