Bledsoe County Sheriff Jimmy Morris
An East Tennessee sheriff is facing charges following his arrest at a restaurant over the weekend.
Bledsoe County Sheriff Jimmy Morris is charged with disorderly conduct. Police arrested him early Sunday morning at the Dunlap Huddle House in Sequatchie County.
The restaurant manager said he got a call from his employees at about 3 a.m. Sunday saying the sheriff was in a fight in the parking lot with several other men and women.
But, the arrest report doesn't describe a fight. It only says Morris was taken away in handcuffs and charged with disorderly conduct. His arrest has caused a lot of buzz.
"I mean he's an authority figure. He could actually have called dispatch down here and said 'hey, there's a guy causing an issue,'" said Chris Cross, the Huddle House manager.
Sheriff Morris bonded out of jail shortly after he was booked Sunday morning. Apparently after he was released, Morris went back to the restaurant for breakfast.
He's due in court next month.
