The Campbell County sheriff says an alcohol-fueled altercation led to the stabbing death of a LaFollette man last week.
Deputies were called to 1078 South Highway 25W Friday evening around 6:30 pm, where they found Rocky Lane Gibson, 53, suffering from a knife wound. He was flown by Lifestar helicopter to UT Medical Center, where he later died.
Sheriff Robbie Goins announced Monday that Jonathan B. Sexton, 26, of Pleasant Ridge Road, Lafollette, was arrested Saturday night and charged with Voluntary Manslaughter in Gibson's death.
Officers with the Campbell County Sheriff's Office said the man who was stabbed on Friday has died.
Around 6:15, authorities were called to a home on Highway 25W just north of LaFollette.
They found a man wounded there and say alcohol may have played a role in the crime. The Campbell County Sheriff's Office says no arrests have been made.
A Lifestar helicopter flew the victim to UT Medical Center. His name and condition are not being released.
Saturday, officers were contacting the victim's family members.
