As we know, some families won't have the chance to do much shopping this season, including those who have kids in the hospital. So, some members of the military are helping to ensure young patients have the best Christmas possible.

Members of the 134th Air Refueling Wing from McGhee Tyson Air Base took part in the Santa Cops program on Friday.

They picked out toys at Walmart in Alcoa, and on Saturday they'll deliver them to kids at Children's Hospital.

"They see that, they forget they're in the hospital. They forget they have an ailment, and they're there for whatever that is. They forget for that second, and they're just kids at Christmas, and they get those gifts and their eyes light up and we get way more than we give," said Master Sergeant Joe Hungat.

This year, more than $9,000 in donations were provided to the Santa Cops program.
