Two people remain in serious condition two days after a fatal wreck on I-40 in Cocke County near Newport Saturday morning.

Authorities said a SUV was traveling the wrong way on I-40 when it crashed into an Ohio family's van.

The accident killed Kristy Jones, 35, of Toledo and seriously injured her fiancé Ronald Boone. Three children were also injured in the crash. Two of those children have been released, and a family member said the third child is still in the hospital.

Kristy Jones' aunt Patty Bucher said the family was on their way to Disney World. The family wanted to stop in South Carolina to visit a family member who purchased the trip for them as a Christmas present. They got into that accident on their way to South Carolina.

Bucher took two of the kids to Ohio and said they are coping with their mother's loss.

"They're doing okay. They're doing okay. Shocked at first, you know, all those things you go through," said Bucher. "They know that we're going to get through this together. We're all making sure we have each others' backs and whatever the kids need."

The SUV's driver Dan Williams remains in critical condition at UT Medical Center. Investigators said they believe Williams may have been impaired when he crashed into the van. Tennessee Highway Patrol said charges are pending.
