A Knox County school teacher receives a big surprise.

The Milken Family Foundation awarded Farragut Intermediate third grade teacher Bobi King with a $25,000 dollar Milken Educator Award on Tuesday.

King is the only teacher in the state to win one of the national awards this year.

It recognizes King for her exceptional work in the classroom.  She says for her, it's all about the kids.

"I teach because of the kids and I still truly, no matter what changes, no matter what happens, I come to school and I am happy with those little 20 faces. I love them and the minute I get in the class they are on my mind no matter what the do and that is why I teach, truly for the kids," said King.

The Milken Educator Award was established in 1985.  Awards are given to up to 40 educators across the country each year.
