Several people on Market Square shared their opinion on the Vols coaching search
Wednesday night's reports that Louisville head football coach Charlie Strong would not accept UT's open coaching position delivered another blow to a passionate fan base growing increasingly impatient with the search.
"We've gone through three coaches now in the span of four years," said UT senior Kelsey Leyrer. "So, it's not my first time and it's about three times too long."
Like many other fans, she is starting to get anxious.
"We're going to be running out of coaches, we need to decide on somebody right now," said Vol fan Janet Amburn Hart, adding: "We really need a coach that's got a good background, has a winning record as Dave Hart said."
Jeff Coppet is also a long-time fan who looks who has his own list of qualifications for a new coach.
"Someone that can compete with LSU or Alabama," he said.
Others say patience is important.
"I think it's important to get it right, and if it takes a little bit longer to get it right, that's the better thing for UT," said Chris Boehnen.
