UT alum Joe Mauldavin discusses new hire while getting his hair cut.
At Frank's Barbershop in Knoxville, customers watched the news conference introducing the University of Tennessee's new head coach.
UT alum Joe Muldavin commented on the hiring of Butch Jones while getting his haircut.
"I'm just happy to be done with it and get on with everything," Muldavin said.
He believes it's a stronger hire than Jones' predecessor.
"I think I'm okay with it. I think it was a relatively safe hire. I think they reached a little bit in their initial candidates and you can't make them say yes," he said.
UT alum Randy Trusley was also at Frank's Barbershop during the news conference and said he had his eye on Jones.
"He's got a lot of energy. Looking forward to seeing what he can do. He's on my list," Trusley said.
While some UT fans worry about their football program's future, Muldavin had a different concern saying, "Some point later today I'm going to have to explain to my mother who Butch Jones is."
