A KFD spokesperson says investigators are looking into whether two early morning house fires were intentionally set and if they are related.

According to a press release, a neighbor let firefighters at one fire on Peachtree Street know there was another fire about a block away on Belvedere Avenue.

Both homes were empty.  The home on Belvedere was a rental.

Despite containing the flames of an unoccupied house fire quickly, Knoxville firefighters say there is not much to salvage of the building.

According to a press release from a fire department spokesman, a caller on a cell phone reported the fire on the 2600 block of Peachtree Street around 2:40 a.m. Tuesday.

When crews arrived, they found the house fire fully involved.

It took about 30 minutes to control the flames.  However, the fire had been raging long enough to destroy most of the building.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
