Nearly 90 seventh graders from West Valley Middle School washed cars, raked leaves and sold ornaments to help give kids in Appalachia a merry Christmas.

Not only did students purchase toys, on Tuesday they assembled them as well.

For many students, helping others made this holiday season extra special. In all, students brought in over $2,000 to purchase toys, hats, gloves and other items.

The Mission of Hope will pick up those donations to distribute on Wednesday.
