East Tennesseans embraced the last repeating number date of the century, 12/12/12.

Some people planned to mark this date down as a milestone, others just got lucky.

Sevier County is always a popular place to tie the knot and this special day made it even more popular.

At Mountain's View Wedding Chapel in Pigeon Forge, they had weddings lined up back to back, starting at 12:00 p.m.

Jake and Jackie Wren planned their wedding on 12/12/12 at noon a year ago.

"We wanted something catchy. It wasn't something traditional, it was totally different so we went with it," Jackie said.

The county clerk's office says 60 plus couples signed up for marriage licenses Wednesday and even more bought them ahead of time.

While this couple spent months planning and plotting for a charmed anniversary, the date fell in the laps of the Watkins' family.

They welcomed their brand new baby boy, Edward Alexander, at 11:40 a.m.

"Initially I hadn't thought about him coming at noon or 12:12, but then I got really excited, maybe it would be noon. He came a little earlier," said Kerri Watkins.

His parents thought he was coming last week. "I was just ready to go. Then we found out we had to wait another week"

They say it was worth the wait.

"[It's] just the coolest birthday. The numbers are just great. Lucky numbers!" she said.

Whether it's a birthday or anniversary, it's a date that only comes around every 100 years. The Wrens and the Watkins say they both feel lucky to have the lucky day in their families.
