The Knoxville Police Department has released more information about a van crash that sent 6 people to the hospital.

KPD says the 2006 Chevy Express 15 passenger van was traveling east on Strawberry Plains when the driver, Julius Brown, 47, of Knoxville, passed out due to a medical condition.  The passenger in the front seat, Robert Green, grabbed the wheel but was unable to keep the van from going off the road and hitting a tree.

All six people in the van, which is owned by Kirby Vacuum Cleaners, were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  All are expected to be released from the hospital today, except the driver, who will be monitored because of the medical condition that caused him to pass out.

All the passengers were employees of Kirby.  They were all wearing their seatbelts.
