It's become a flashy tradition in Knoxville and one of the only Christmas lights displays that moves. The sixth annual Tour de Lights ride took a trip from Market Square to Old North Knoxville on Thursday.

The ride began six years ago as a way to get people to get out and exercise during the holidays while showing off their creativity.

Since then, it's consistently drawn more than 500 people. Thursday's ride was no different, bringing in over 700 bicyclists with all kinds of lights on their bikes.

"People apparently love to come in costume and decorate their bikes. I had no idea. This is just, they love seeing each other and all the effort and energy they put into their costumes and their decorations," said Kelly Segar, transportation planner at Knoxville Regional Transportation Organization.

Organizers crowned winners in a bunch of categories from best costume to best helmet.
