We're one week away from Christmas and many people are preparing for big holiday trips. Around 60,000 Tennesseans are expected to take to the skies.

With more people traveling, McGhee Tyson Airport reminds travelers to arrive with plenty of time. Arrive one hour early for domestic flights, and two hours for international. If you're traveling with gifts, the airport asks that you keep them unwrapped in your carry-on or check them.

"All of the wonderful wrapping papers, bows with the wires in them to make them look pretty-- all of those will set off security point measures, and you'll have to unwrap them at the checkpoint," said airport spokesperson Becky Huckaby.

The airport also has an iPhone app so travelers can stay up to date on departure and arrival times. Huckaby says the app proved to be helpful during the Thanksgiving travel season.
