Prosecutors say the officer who shot a man outside West Town Mall did not commit a crime.
Knoxville Police say the District Attorney's office sent a letter to the department Friday, clearing Officer Christopher Edmunds of any criminal wrong doing.
Police say Edmunds shot 30-year-old Abraham Dudley on November 1. They say Dudley was fighting with his girlfriend in the mall parking lot, then she got into some kind of struggle with Edmunds.
Dudley survived the shooting.
While prosecutors have cleared Edmonds, Knoxville Police are still conducting an internal investigation. Edmunds remains on paid leave.
