On Thursday, East Tennessee could see a variety of weather, from rain, to thunderstorms, even some snow!
We woke up to rain and strong, gusty winds. That will stick around for much of the day, with the chance of some thunderstorms.
Highs are expected to reach the mid-50's on Thursday, before colder air sweeps in in the evening, dropping temps down into the upper 20s to low 30s.
With that colder air, the higher elevations, including the Cumberland Plateau, could see some snow with some light accumulation. TDOT is preparing to treat the interstates and major state routes in those areas Thursday night. We could even see some snow flakes falling in Knoxville and the valley locations, but no accumulation is expected.
Friday will be cold, with temperatures in the upper 20s, and highs only reaching the lower 40s, but the sun will be shining into the weekend! The temperatures will start rising again, reaching the lower 50s by Sunday.
