East Tennessee military members gave out some early Christmas gifts to sick children at East Tennessee Children's Hospital on Friday.
Thanks to some extra donations, Toys for Tots was able to hand out more toys than usual.
One marine says this is the first year the Marine Corps Reserve has been able to hand out toys at the hospital.
Toys for Tots workers thought donations would be down this year, instead they say they've seen one of their better years for money and toy donations, making their mission at the hospital a possibility.
"It's awesome to know that these toys are going to someone who truly appreciates them. It's good to come and help in the community from where most of us are from at Delta company," said Sgt. Maegan Larkins, the Toys for Tots coordinator.
