One person is in the hospital with serious injuries following a single vehicle accident in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park at approximately 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
A Great Smoky Mountain National Park spokesperson said a truck struck a tree on Little River Road approximately a half-mile from the portion of Little River known as "The Sinks."
Three people were inside the vehicle during the accident. LifeStar airlifted a 19-year-old passenger from Virginia with serious injuries to UT Medical Center. The driver of the vehicle and a second passenger refused transportation to the hospital.
