A suspect wanted in an August murder was arrested following an overnight pursuit, Knoxville police said.

Myron Tate was arrested Monday morning when a KPD investigator working security at a bowling alley on Parkside Dr. noticed Tate leaving the parking lot in an SUV.

The officer reported the vehicle description, and a second officer tried to stop the suspect a short distance away. They say Tate fled with officers in pursuit, which continued until he drove off the road near E. Red Bud and Cruze in South Knoxville.

Tate fled into a wooded area, where officers took him into custody after a K-9 bit him.

Tate had five outstanding warrants upon his arrest, including a felony murder charge in the death of 32-year-old Roderick King.

KPD reported in August that King was killed at an apartment on Magnolia Ave. and that the motive appeared to be related to drugs and money.
