Endangered Child Alert canceled for missing Bristol boy

Update 3:50 pm.  Dakota Smith has been located safely.  His father, Tayler James Smith, has been arrested.

An East Tennessee Endangered Child Alert has been issued for a missing Bristol boy.

According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Dakota James Smith, 1, was last seen by his mother on December 29.  He was with his non-custodial father, Tayler James Smith.  Smith told her he was taking Dakota to see family in the area.  She last heard from the her son's father at 1:00 am on December 31, via a text message that said he was not returning with the child.

Dakota has red hair and brown eyes.  he is 3' tall and weighs 27 pounds.

Tayler Smith, 22, is a white man with brown hair and eyes. He's 5'11" tall and weighs 125 pounds.  He may be driving a blue 1991 Acura Integra with a TN tag of 854GSF and "747" stickers on the windows.

Investigators say Smith does not have the adequate supplies for Dakota and custodial interference warrants have been issued for him.
