Knoxville police say someone stole brass grates from a downtown park.

Monday morning, police say someone watched a man load up a grate into his car on Gay Street. They believe the grate is from Krutch Park.

Police say seven others were stolen from the park sometime over the weekend.

The grates are brass and are 21 inches by 21 inches, and an inch thick. They were around a tree that's planted in the center of a fountain.

Anyone with information can call KPD anonymously at (865) 215-7212.
