About 100 Boys and Girls Club kids had the chance to enjoy a winter tradition in downtown Knoxville on Thursday.
Regal Entertainment Group donated tickets to the ice skating rink in Market Square. The kids also received some donated hats, scarves and jackets.
The Boys and Girls Club says it's a fun and new experience for many of the kids.
"They may not have these kinds of opportunities at home. So we really just want to get them out, and just try to get them to experience Knoxvlle, especially this kind of area," said Josh High, who works with the Boys and Girls Club of the Tennessee Valley
After ice skating in the morning, the kids got to enjoy lunch downtown. The groups divided up between Tupelo Honey Cafe, Latitude 35 and Downtown Grill and Brewery.
