An Indiana man is behind bars charged with stabbing his girlfriend several times at a Gatlinburg motel.
According to a press release from the Gatlinburg Police Department, officers responded to a possible stabbing call at the Hillside Motel Apartments Thursday around 2:30 p.m.
Police say they found the victim, 22-year-old Amber L. Leslie from Ft. Wayne Indiana with multiple stab wounds.
She was transported by helicopter to UT Medical Center. At last report she was in critical condition.
Her boyfriend, 22-year-old James E. Heroy III of New Haven Indiana was charged with 2nd degree murder. He is being held in the Sevier County jail.
