The FBI is hoping digital billboards will help them track down two men who robbed a Newport bank last month.  The men are also suspected in similar robbery in Georgia.

The billboards will be up in Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

On December 26, two men walked into the Tennessee State Bank with at least one assault-type rifle a week ago, and demanded money. The suspects took off without hurting anyone, but they did steal some cash, and hold a police officer at gunpoint.

The pair was last seen in a silver SUV heading toward North Carolina on Interstate 40.

The Atlanta FBI office is investigating a similar robbery at a Suntrust bank in Gainesville,Georgia. In that case, two men walked into the bank on December 11th and demanded money. One was armed with an assault rifle. No one was hurt.

If you have any information, contact the FBI at (865) 544-0751 or the Newport Police Department at (423) 623-5556.
