It may only be 45 degrees outside, and a tad windy, but you can't tear these guys off the water.

Dylan Kear is the founder of the Clinton High School Fishing Club, and he says he's out on the water more than half the year.

"If I can, about 280 days a year. It wouldn't be half bad if we could do 365 days," Dylan said.

It's one of only a handful high school clubs in the area.

"I figured high schools needed a sport like this. It's like any other sport, we practice and we try and go to work and win."

In just three years it's grown into a 12-member club, and they compete in several tournaments throughout the year.

"There's kids that aren't athletic enough to play football and basketball and can't do any of that, and it makes them possible for them to actually get out and do something."

Some most of the teammates learned to crawl in a fishing boat.

"I was 4-years-old with my dad sitting on the edge of the boat, with a worm and a line pushed around it's neck trying to see if I could catch something," Dylan said.

The club is hosting a fundraising tournament on Saturday, January 9th from safe light till 2 pm. Its $50 for a boat, and$10 for lunker. For more information on the tournament or how to sponsor the team, contact Dylan Kear at dylankear@yahoo.com.
