Knoxville Zoo said it's looking for more volunteers this year.

The zoo hosted a volunteer day Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. During this event, teens and adults were able to tour the zoo and see various ways they could get involved.

Zoo staff said they have more than 200 volunteers, but are looking to add about 60 more people.

Teens and adults have until late February to apply. Volunteers are required to work a minimum of 50 hours and attend six monthly meetings each year. New volunteers must also be a Knoxville Zoo member to enter the program.

The sign-up cost, which covers uniforms and training materials, is $75 for adults and $125 for people 13 to 17 years old
