A woman convicted in the death of Monroe County Election Commissioner Jim Miller will not get a new trial.

Judge Walter Kurtz denied a request by Jessica Kennedy, 29, for a new trial on Jan. 14. She was convicted on four charges, including facilitation of first degree murder back in August.

Judge Kurtz later sentenced her to 22 years in prison. Kennedy's charges stem from her role in the death of Election Commissioner Jim Miller. He was found shot and killed in the trunk of his burning car in July 2010.
