Stars on Stage

Comedy legend Bob Newhart will headline "Stars on Stage," the annual fundraising gala and concert to benefit the Historic Tennessee Theatre Foundation on Saturday, Feb. 2.

The "Stars on Stage" gala reception will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will include hors d'oeuvres, cocktails and a silent auction featuring musical instruments autographed by stars and other memorabilia. Doors will open to general ticket holders at 7 p.m., and a live auction will be conducted prior to Newhart's performance at 8 p.m.

VIP tickets are $152 and include the pre-show reception, silent auction, live auction and performance. Tickets to the Bob Newhart performance are $47, and are available at Knoxville Tickets outlets, the Tennessee Theatre box office on Clinch Avenue, by phone at 865-656-4444 and online at

Steve Kaufman

Guitarist Steve Kaufman, the three-time winner of the National Flatpicking Championships, will offer an all-level mandolin workshop in Alcoa/Maryville, January 25-26, 2013. The workshop is to be held at MainStay Suites, 361 Fountain View Circle, Alcoa, TN. on January 25-26, 2013.

The fee for the all-level mandolin workshop is $90 per person. A non-refundable deposit of $45 is required to hold a space, with the remainder due the day of the workshop. Pre-registration required. Seating is limited.

Steve Kaufman will also be in concert in February at the Palace Theater Downtown Maryville. The evening concert will be held on February 16, 2013 at The Palace Theater, 113 W.
