Several members of Tennessee's congressional leaders are willing to put their paychecks on the line.

The move is tied to a bill called "No Budget, No Pay," that tells Congress if they don't pass a budget by April 15th, they won't get their paychecks on time. The Senate has not passed a budget in nearly four years.

Tennessee Senator Lamar Alexander said in a press conference Wednesday that's not acceptable.

"In Tennessee, people know, if you joined the Grand Ole Opry, and you refused to sing, you don't get paid. So they think, well, if you join the Senate, and you refuse to pass a budget which is required by law, you shouldn't get paid," he said.

Tennessee's other senator also backs the bill. Senator Bob Corker is a co-sponsor.

No Budget, No Pay passed the House Wednesday with support from both parties.
