UT has announced that the Knoxville campus is closed Friday. That's a pretty rare occurence. The last time anyone can rememer UT being closed for a day was in 2003.
Update 9:19 a.m.
The University of Tennessee is now opening at 12:00 p.m. Friday due to difficult driving conditions.

This is the message they sent out to students and faculty:
All classes scheduled prior to the set time of opening and those that have less than 30 minutes remaining after the set opening time are cancelled. Classes with more than 30 minutes remaining after the set opening time will begin at the opening time.
Faculty, administrators and staff are expected to make every reasonable effort to report at 10 a.m., and maintain their regular work schedules for the rest of the day. Employees should, however, avoid risks in traveling and notify their supervisor of their status
