Leon Houston, Rocky Houston
Federal trials for Roane County brothers Rocky and Leon Houston have been scheduled.
Authorities arrested Rocky Houston in early January for owning firearms while being a convicted felon.
Rocky Houston decided to represent himself Monday and have an attorney help him during his March 26 trial. He still has the opportunity to change his mind.
He must tell Federal Judge Clifford Shirley by next week whether he will hire an attorney or ask for one to be appointed.
Judge Shirley strongly advised him not to represent himself in court.
Leon Houston's trial has been set for March 25.
The Houston brothers were charged but never convicted in the 2006 shoot-out, which killed a Roane County deputy and his friend.
