UPDATE: Memphis Police have canceled an Amber Alert for a 2 month old baby from Memphis. The father of the child, Adrian Delk, is now in police custody.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Police in Memphis have issued an alert after the father of a two-month-old baby snatched the child from a hospital.
Authorities say 8-week-old Adrien Delk Jr. was taken by his father early Thursday from Methodist North Hospital. A press release from the TBI says Adrian, JR. is a black male, with black hair, brown eyes, 17 inches long, and weighs 15lbs.
The police statement said 24-year-old Adrian Delk Sr. was armed with a knife. The TBI say Adrian Delk Sr. assaulted the child's mother stabbing her multiple times. Delk Sr. transported the mother by private vehicle to a hospital in Memphis then fled with the baby in a 2006 Silver Nissan Altima with Tennessee registration C0161N.
The father is described as a male black, who is bald, 5-feet-10 and weighs about 160 pounds. He was dressed in a black jacket, blue shirt and dark pants.
