The wait is almost over. Whether your team made it or not, it's time to get excited for the Super Bowl! Now, a lot of prep goes in to getting ready for the big game. You'll need buffalo wings, maybe some extra chairs for friends and most importantly, something to do until kick-off. We've taken care of that last one in this week's 10 About Town.

What better way to start the weekend than on the court? The Lady Vols are looking to rebound against the Mississippi State Bulldogs tonight at Thompson Boling Arena. Game starts at 7:00pm and can be viewed on Comcast Sports Southeast

Hockey fans, the Ice Bears have two games this weekend, starting Thursday night against the Fayetteville Fireantz. On Saturday, the Bears take on the Huntsville Havoc. Saturday night is also Star Wars night so dust off that Storm Trooper costume you got back in 1982 and head to the Coliseum. Games start at 7:30pm.

If you find yourself in Townsend this weekend, stop by the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center for the 7th Annual Winter Heritage Festival. You'll enjoy hiking, photography workshops, live music and much more. Official kick-off reception is this evening at 5:00pm.

The Clarence Brown Theatre takes you into the mind of abstract expressionist Mark Rothko with their production of "RED". Tickets to this event start around $20. Curtain goes up at 7:30pm, Sunday at 2:00pm.

Great music, great cause! Its the 3rd annual installment of Waynestock taking place this weekend at the Relix Variety Theatre. For just $5, you can enjoy a line up of more than a dozen bands and solo performers. Event kicks-off Friday at 7:00pm with proceeds going to benefit the Community School for the Arts.

Where can you go for some "sweet-art" for your "sweet-heart"? The Knoxville Zoo of course! Its the Art Gone Wild Valentine's Edition. Starting Friday, you'll have the opportunity to bid on works of art made by actual animals at the zoo. Go to for more information.

This Saturday, the Tennessee Theatre will host its annual Stars On Stage fundraiser and gala. The evening's feature performer is none other than comedic legend Bob Newhart. Tickets to the Newhart performance start at $47. Doors open at 7:00pm. Go to for gala and ticket information.

Farragut has a new Adults-Only Ballroom Dancing event taking place Saturday night in the Farragut High School Commons Area. Tickets are $6 in advance, $10 at the door. Check out for more information. Dance starts at 7:00pm.

Also Saturday evening, The South Carolina Broadcasters bring the sounds of old-time string music to the Laurel Theater. Tickets are $12 for all ages. Show starts at 8:00pm.

Texas singer songwriter Webb Wilder will join the Beatnecks and Plow'd at Barley's Taproom Saturday night at 10:00pm. Enjoy great food and the live music for all ages.

And finally at the Bijou Theatre, the Bethel University Renaissance Theatre Program presents the Rock N' Roll Revue "Smokey Joe's Cafe". Tickets can be purchased for $10 at the bijou box office. Performance starts Saturday night at 7:00pm.
