Infant dies after firefighter rescue her from burning home

Authorities said a 10-month old child passed away after firefighters rescued her from a burning home in Morristown early Sunday morning.

EMS workers transported her to Morristown Hamblen Hospital. Rescue crews then flown her to Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Ga. The child suffered second and third degree burns over 80 percent of her body. According to Morristown corner Eddie Davis, she died at Doctors Hospital from those injuries at approximately 11:30 a.m.

Hamblen County dispatchers said the fire broke out at a duplex on Bright's Pike in Morristown. The initial call came in at 12:18 a.m. No additional details are being released at this time.
