Firefighters worked more than three hours to extinguish a house fire in Pigeon Forge Sunday afternoon.
Pigeon Forge Firefighters were dispatched to a reported house fire at 725 Timber Lake Drive at 3:47 p.m. When firefighters arrived on scene, about 50 percent of the residence was on fire. Crews said the outside chimney area extending into the attic was on fire.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames, while saving several of the occupant's belongings. Crews remained on scene until shortly before 7:00 p.m.
Waldens Creek Fire Department, Wears Valley Fire Department and Sevier County Fire Department all assisted in the fire.
Pigeon Forge Firefighters stated in a release that this incident marked the fifth structure fire the department has worked during the past week.
