Stabbing victim says he won't press charges

A stabbing victim was released from UT Medical Tuesday after he was stabbed and assaulted in a motel in East Knoxville Monday night.

Knoxville police responded to a stabbing a the Deluxe Inn Motel on 2801 E. Magnolia Avenue at 9:42 p.m.

According a KPD release, the victim Bradley Sewell said he was visiting a friend staying at the motel.

He said his friend let several men enter the motel room. According to the Sewell, everyone in the room was very intoxicated and they began to argue. He said one or several of the men became violent, and hit Sewell in the face with a beer bottle and stabbed him with a knife.

Following the attack, Sewell walked across the street and called for help. EMS transported Sewell to UT Medical with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said the victim was able to identify the suspect, but said he would not press charges.
