Dollywood's Splash Country is set to open Tennessee's first water coaster. RiverRush is scheduled to open Mother's Day weekend in May of 2013.
On February 6, the media toured the construction site. RiverRush is a hydromagnetic coaster that stands four stories tall. Visitors will sit in a 4-person toboggan-style boat. The ride will take them up 237 feet and then down a 25-foot, 45 degree drop and then navigate through dark tunnels and hairpin turns. Dollywood says the track for RiverRush covers more than an acre near their Big Bear Plunge white water rafting slide.
Dollywood announced plans for the water coaster in June of 2012 saying it will be the state's first water coaster.
