A viewer asks: "How fast does the wind have to blow to be considered a blizzard?"

According to the National Weather Service, a blizzard is defined as a snowstorm with winds of at least 35 miles per hour.

But remember, wind is only one part of the official definition of a blizzard. It also includes snow and blowing snow that reduces visibility to less than one-quarter of a mile for at least three hours.
