President Obama may have defeated Hillary Rodham Clinton in the 2008 Democratic primaries, but after one term in the White House he now trails her in a new popularity poll.
According to the Quinnipiac University survey, 61% have a favorable view Clinton, while only 34% have an unfavorable view.
Obama's numbers are 51% favorable and 46% unfavorable.
The poll also said that Obama "has a split 46-45% job approval ... down from 53-40% approval among registered voters in December, a month after his re-election."
Clinton, who recently retired from the Secretary of State job and may seek the presidency again in 2016, has higher approval ratings than other national figures, Quinnipiac reported.
Some other favorable/unfavorable ratings:
46-41% for Vice President Joseph Biden;
25-29% for former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, with 45% who don't know enough about him to form an opinion;
20-42% for House Speaker John Boehner;
27-15% for Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, with 57% who don't know enough;
34-36% for U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan;
43-33% for new Secretary of State John Kerry;
