The Tennessee Highway Patrol confirmed that a two vehicle crash killed one person and injured three others in Jefferson County Saturday night.
Authorities the accident happened at the intersection of East Dumplin Valley Road and State Hwy. 92 around 7:00 p.m.
According to a report, 26-year-old Megan Bowers of Jefferson City was driving east on Dumplin Valley Road when she came to the intersection of Hwy. 92. and turned her Dodge coupe into the oncoming traffic of the highway, colliding with a Pontiac Grand Prix in the right lane.
Megan Bowers died in that crash. Two passengers in the Dodge were injured in the crash, as well as the driver of the Pontiac.
According to Jefferson County dispatch, Lifestar was called to the scene.
Officials at UT Medical Center report one of the passengers in the Dodge, 18 year old Ocean Phillips, is listed in critical condition. The conditions of others injured in the crash were not immediately available.
Officers said Bowers may have been driving under the influence of drugs. Neither of the passengers of the Dodge were wearing seat belts.
THP is still investigating the crash.
