The City of Knoxville has focused on improving a section of Central Street in recent years just north of Downtown.
Tuesday, City Council approved $400,000 for new street lights along Central from the Old City to Heiskell Avenue in the Happy Holler community.
Half the money will come from a state grant and the city will provide the rest.
