Alzheimer's Tennessee Walk

Volunteers and Champions for the Cause will officially kick off the Knoxville Alzheimer's WALK at Noon on Friday, Feb. 22, 2013. Volunteers who plan to organize WALK Teams at area companies, churches, and organizations will learn more about plans for the Knoxville Alzheimer's WALK scheduled for Saturday, April 13, 2013.

Holland Bulb Sale

Knoxville Green is holding a Holland Daffodil Bulb Sale and Giveaway Saturday, February 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, February 24, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The sale will be held at Windsor Square Shopping Center, at Kingston Pike and N. Seven Oaks Dr., just west of Cedar Bluff Road.

Each person attending the sale, including children, will be given 15 free bulbs. Additional bulbs will be available for purchase.

Proceeds from the sale will be used to plant additional daffodils along Pellissippi Parkway and to support other projects of Knoxville Green, which was founded by the late Mrs. Maria Compere who passed away on January 24, 2013, at the age of 97.

Approximately 2 million daffodils have already been planted on the Pellissippi Parkway.

Color Me Rad Run

Demand was so high for the most colorful race to hit the streets of Knoxville that the April 6 Color Me Rad 5K sold out in just 14 days, with 7,000 runners. Those who didn't get their registration in before the event sold out will get another opportunity this week.
Color Me Rad will open 2,000 additional spots for the Spring race on Thursday, February 21. Registration is $40. Register online at  and use code CHILDREN5K to save 5%, and have 15% go to Children's Hospital.
Join the fun on April 6, 2013 at the Knoxville Civic Auditorium. The color bombs start flying at 9a.m., with waves of paint every five minutes after.
More than 5,500 runners participated in the 2012 Color Me Rad 5K, helping raise more than $17,000 for Children's Hospital.
