On Wednesday, a McMinn County community gathered to honor a long time rescue worker.

David Michael Frost, 57, known as Frosty, died on Saturday after a heart attack.

Frost once served as the chief of the Etowah Rescue Squad, as did his father.  Now, his son Brandon is the current head of the department.

Frost's funeral was at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.  After the service, his flag-draped coffin was placed on top of a firetruck and driven to Green Hill Cemetery, where he was laid to rest.  Family, friends, and colleagues followed the firetruck on foot to the cemetery.

The family has asked that instead of flowers, that memorial contributions be made to the Etowah Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 151, Etowah, TN 37331; or to the Wesley Memorial Food Pantry, P.O. Box 306, Etowah, TN 37331.
